I'm with you, Sky. I love Thomas and I was worried that he was going to be sidelined for a couple of books before his story was picked up again. Doesn't sound like he'll be front and centre of this one, but glad he's specifically mentioned as being there ....

| In James' recent Q&A at ValenCon, he said that the character he'd most like to play from the Dresden books (if it were a movie and he wasn't Harry) was Butters. Who is Butters/which book might I find him in? |

From Jim Butcher's announcement list today:
| Quote: | | Eager to get a taste of "Changes," book 12 of The Dresden Files? The first of four sample chapters will be posted tonight at midnight MST (GMT-7)! When the time comes, you'll be able to read them at http://jim-butcher.com/books/dresden/12/ |
Those sample chapters seem to make the wait even harder to bear, lol. |

I finished reading the latest Kim Harrison "Rachel Morgan" book late last night and forgot to go back and read the first Changes chapter. I just read it and Wow! Intense for sure. (And I just love Mouse and Mac more and more with each book. ) |

Cindy, due to you I intend to start reading the Kim Harrison books as soon as I've finished the next Dresden and the first six books I've downloaded to my kindle. Hopefully that won't take too long. I'm reading a biography of Frank Lloyd Wright at the moment. Boy, he had an eventful life, didn't he? Also reading a book on scientology. Creepyfreakyspooky!
New Dresden chapter coming up! Squeeeeeeeeeee!!! Do we think he'll mention Thomas in any of them? *frets*
I'm reading the sample chapters, but absolutely nothing after the book is out up until the point when I've read it. Roll on April! _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

Regarding the Kim Harrison books, tubby -- the first book isn't the best, especially at about half-way through, but it does improve, and the series definitely improves. The main character, Rachel Morgan, is pretty whiny/whingy at times, but over-all, Kim writes a good story, is an excellent 'world builder', IMO, and has fun characters. |

Thanks for the reminder; I just read it, and wow -- intense scene. And I too wonder why Mouse was growly?? |

Mouse is either the sneakiest evil bad guy in the history of the universe, cunningly disguised as a dog, or incredibly smart, insightful pooch who is a very very good judge of character. I know which one I choose.
There are all sorts of theories flying around on the Dresden forum. People have heard that the book ends on a cliffhanger, and based on nothing more than that rumour they've concluded that Harry kills Murphy, Murphy kills Thomas, Thomas kills Ebenezer, Mouse eats Mister, Mister kills Lara, Toot kills the Merlin etc etc etc .... 'tis very alarming, yet highly funny and simply whets the anticipation even more. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

Not as exciting as the first two and no sign of Thomas yet. Sneaky Jim. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

I agree, tubby -- Not as exciting as the first 2, but it sure looks like Changes is going to be a good book. |

Cindy, yes I think it's going to reset a whole heap of rules and alliances and loyalties. Each book has progressed the story and the characters, but I get the impression that this will be like a giant storm sweeping through and knocking everyone off their feet.
Not quite sure where it will leave any of them, but it will be a fabulous read. I'm aware that there is a long way to go until the end, but this might give us a glimpse of what direction it's going in.
Even though I'm worried for Thomas I still think he'll rise to the occasion and be there for Harry when it counts. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

Next chapter is up!
Seems to be pretty much a continuation of the last one, so all of them so far have been from right at the start of the book. Jim's not giving too much away yet. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |
