George Gently Returns For Two New Adventures
First Published | 23:55, Wednesday November 14 2007

Company Pictures is currently in production with two new 90
minute 'George Gently' dramas for BBC One.

Expected to air in Spring 2008 the dramas will see Martin Shaw
return as Gently after a successful first outing earlier this year
and will reunite him with director Euros Lyn and Executive Producers
George Faber and Charlie Pattinson.

In Bomber's Moon Gently and Bacchus find themselves investigating
present violence and past grievances after a returning German POW is
found dead in the harbour of a small fishing village,

Gently Where the Roads Go will see the pair drawn into the shadowy
world of IRA gun running and into direct opposition with a ruthless
Special Branch officer.

My box set from Amazon.UK finally arrived! So far, I've watched the first two episodes. EEE! for Bodie & Doyle! My daughter thought they were quite fun and watched them with me. I had to explain several slang words to her, as she had no clue. Laughing

We've worked our way through all of Season One and have begun on S2. My goodness, that theme song is fun. Totally sticks in your head forever. My daughter loves it! She's a Bodie girl, but I'm afraid it's Doyle for me. It's the curls. Smile

Hee! Laughing

Season 2 & 3 are the best. I think 3 is my favourite. The boys get even more beautiful and the camera knows that the (female) viewers all want to concentrate on important things such as tight trousers and big hair. Can't wait to hear what you think. Laughing

Hey, be careful of that theme tune. One day you'll hear it and suddenly you'll find yourself pretending that you're holding a gun, then busting through a door, rolling across the hood of your car and putting some poor passer by in a headlock. It's happened to us all over the years. Cool

Laughing The Daughter already sings the "dah-dah-daa" bit when she drives. Oh dear, I hope she doesn't start Bodie-rolling, too. *takes a drink*
How is Apparitions? I thought about getting it, as it was a good price. MS looks mighty good in his collar. And he still has a gun in hand, I see.

*denies all knowledge of Bodie rolls*

I loved Apparitions, but then I was bought up Roman Catholic so stories about Catholic Mythology, Angels/Demons, GoodvBad have always interested me. And Martin Shaw is absolutely gorgeous in it. He just gets better with age.

The Daughter & I were enjoying some George Gently yesterday. She was so surprised to see Martin Shaw. She said that he was better looking as he was older, v.v. handsome. He's awfully good in Gently. I have Judge Deed, but haven't started it yet. Netflix is sadly deficient in some areas, although they do have a great foreign film catalogue.

You have no idea how pleased I am to see you being smitten by the lovely Mr Shaw. He is indeed stunningly gorgeous in his 60's and only gets better.

One of my favourite stories about him .....

Quote:
He was so dazzling in his youth that when he was introduced to Sir John Gielgud, the legendary actor said regretfully: 'You're frightfully handsome. I suppose you're married!'

I adore the thought of all the old luvvies gushing over his beauty. See? It's not just us! Laughing

The dazzling Mr. Shaw was just dreamy in Judge John Deed--that scene of him and Lady Rochester tangoing was beyond sexy. I adore watching him fence and stretch, too. Embarassed

How is the Martin Shaw perving going, sister c? Where are you up to in The Professionals series and what's your favourite episode or scene so far?

Perving on Season 4 currently, and there are seeral stand-out scenes. I love the one in the art gallery (It's Only a Beautiful Picture) with the two of them flitting along, looking oh-so-adorable together with their wine in hand. Then in Blood Sports, too many scenes of them! Bodie rolling around in his underpants in the backseat while Doyle makes screaming turns is hilarious; the bar scene of them together being very flirty & couple-y is too cute. Martin is looking just lovely with a tiny touch of grey at the temples.

Hee! Very Happy Love that you've got through all the seasons so quickly. Have you got to Discovered In A Graveyard yet? *wibbles* Nobody suffers as beautifully as Doyle does.

Not yet, as we're restricting ourselves to one or two eps per day. Oh, he is so pretty when he or his honey-bunny is hurt. Can't wait to see that episode. Then we'll have to start over again.
My Judge Deed S2 should be here soon, so we can perve over the grey-maned lion. He's so fierce! We did manage to find two episodes of Dalgliesh on Netflix to enjoy, too. Bless, he's lovely.

I love how you're rationing out the episodes in daily doses.

Do you now find yourself bursting through doorways singing the Professionals theme music? Laughing
