| They should just have every competitor swim naked. That would level the playing field. It would drive up ratings, too. |

Big congrats to Britain's Jessica Ennis! The new Heptathlon World Champion!
She won it in style too, from the first event to the last, and with a massive lifetime’s best score.
Fantastic performance! Well done Jess.
And what can you say about the phenomenon that is Usain Bolt!
Gold in the 100 metres, in a new World record time of 9.58 seconds!
Just wow!!! _________________ "Added to the sum, I am BEAUTIFUL in all my insecurities & WEAKNESSES & PITIFULNESS” ~ James Marsters ~

It's a long time since I've been interested in sprinters but Usain Bolt just kills me.
He just won the 200 metres in yet another world record time (19.19 seconds).

Today was men's semi-finals day in the US Open. Del Potro soundly beat Nadal who just can't be up to his usual fitness yet. Federer just beat Djokovic in straight sets so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Federer win tomorrow.

Kim Clijsters has just beaten Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets. Both players took a while to get going but in the end it was a fairly comfortable win for Clijsters. Clijsters really deserved her win seeing as she had to beat both Williams sisters en route to the final.

I timed my lunch break perfectly so I managed to watch the last 4 games. Thrilled to see Clijsters win, as I think she's all class ( plus she had the good sense to dump Lleyton Hewitt). Lovely watching her celebrate with her family and I also thought Wozniacki was very gracious and happy for Clijsters too. Loved seeing the two of them chatting while they waited for the ceremony.
Welcome back Kim! You've been missed!
Now come on Roger! _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

Just poking my head above ground to once again to announce that Phil Taylor won the PDC. darts championship this week for the fifteenth time. go phil ! he played the Aussie Simon Whitlock in the final. Simon played brilliant darts all week, and made a decent match of it,unlike some players who seem defeated by phil before they start. |

That's amazing. He once played a darts exhibition match in the pub I worked at in London and all the men were All the women were And all the Aussies were "Who?" But he seemed very nice and his beer gut was admired by all. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

So behind on everything, but at last there's a sporting event in Australia that I can watch during the day on weekends. The Australian Open is on. Federer seems to be squishing everybody with ease, but tonight Nadal plays Murray, so I'm looking forward to it. The cricket is on too - Pakistan v Australia one day match, but it already looks one-sided and I think the tennis will win out for me.
The women's tournament has increased its interest for me immensely just by having Henin and Clijsters back in the game. Clijsters had a shocker and is out, but Henin looks good.
Did anybody here see the Venus Williams match where she wore flesh coloured undies? I got one flash and that was it, I couldn't look any more. Horrible. I hope that trend doesn't catch on. I don't want to look at women's naked bits and I don't want to look at something that looks like I'm looking at women's naked bits, even if I'm not!

OMG, I listened to Henri Leconte commentating last night during the Tsonga match and he was hilarious. Off with the fairies and it was reminiscent of that famous audio of Brian Johnson/Jonathon Agnew commentary when they totally lost the plot and couldn't stop giggling. He whooped, squealed, squeeeed and shrieked all the way through it. Like a South American football commentator, only more over the top.
They've let him back on tonight! It's chaos. Nobody can get a word in and all I can hear is cackling and giggling.
Someone just told him to behave and he made a whimpering pouty noise and now they've lost all control again. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

Watching some live tennis tonight. I'd hoped we'd already have got to Roger's match but the Venus Williams match took almost 3 hours so everything's running late. The Venus match was interesting just for the swings in the game and Venus's serve totally deserting her at times. The end was a shock win for Li Na in three sets.

The tennis coverage has stopped here for the news, but from what I saw I think you're lucky you missed that first set of Roger's match. He's out of sorts and not having a good time. No indication of what is wrong, but he's definitely out of sorts. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

Yeah, I woke up in the middle of his recovery run of games and saw him close it out to get into his 23rd consecutive grand slam semi-final.

Murray v Federer final is on tonight. Come on Roger! Although I know how much it would mean to the Brits ( except helcat) to have a Brit win a grand slam.
Serena Williams been Justine Henin last night. I'm glad Henin at least pushed her to three sets and she said she isn't back to her full potential, so look forward to seeing what she can do this year. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

He did so well. Murray looked so frustrated and incredibly weary at the end. Unless Federer gets injured I'm not sure he's going to find it easy to win Wimbledon. _________________ LAMENT: Chapter 21: - 16505 words |

No doubt about it, when he plays his best tennis Federer is just in a class of his own. He makes it all look so effortless and easy.
Murray was soundly beaten, but I’m sure he’ll win a slam one day – when Federer loses his edge...or after
he retires…and provided Nadal’s knees stay knackered...and no-one better emerges in the mean time......
Just kidding! Good try Andy, but nowhere near good enough to beat an 'in form' Fedex. _________________ "Added to the sum, I am BEAUTIFUL in all my insecurities & WEAKNESSES & PITIFULNESS” ~ James Marsters ~
